On September 20th 2024, we posted an X Roll-Call for the % of Ontario corn and soybean acres harvested up to the end of September 22nd.

Soybeans are about 18% complete across the province. Soybeans have been reported as being "dry" thus far, with many fields in the 10-11% range.

Many farmers have been seeding winter wheat by following the combine with the drill. Quite a few respondents have reported they have 50-100% of intended wheat acres in, however these farmers tend to be in the snow belt, where harvest typically starts earlier than the southern parts of Ontario or has been planted on edible bean acres. Big picture, not enough in to build an acre trend at this time, to compare to historical fall acreage.

Outside of silage coming off and possibly a few rare farmers filling an early corn contract, there is essentially no grain corn harvested as of September 22nd.

Thank you to Bayer CropScience for sponsoring our 2024 harvest progress reports.
