I ended up injuring my hand last week, as result this report has been delayed.

On Friday May 29th, 2026, we posted an X Roll-Call for the % of Ontario corn and soybean acres planted up to the end of Sunday May 31st, 2026.

Soybeans - With all respondents reporting we are about 82% complete, slightly ahead of 2025 (80%). This is somewhat surprising, but perhaps many growers are putting in soybeans regardless what had been cool conditions. Starting to see some replants in my service area due to seed corn maggot feeding (mainly on fall harvested, spring worked corn fields). If you have replanted, let us know.

Corn - Estimate we are 91% complete in 2026 vs 93% in 2025. A few areas that had been wet have started to make some progress on the planting front, so slightly behind last year, but by a small margin.

This was our third roll call for the 2026 cropping season, and we look forward to your participation in future polls. These maps are built with data from both X survey participants and from our Cropwalker group of field observers.

Thank you to FMC for sponsoring our 2026 planting progress reports.
